CANDIDATE CATEGORIES

The categories of candidates who can enroll in the PPS are the following:

  1. Holders of a Bachelor Degree from the School of Forest and Natural Environment

  2. Graduates of Biological, Environmental and Positive Sciences Graduates of Departments of Economics and Administration, Informatics, and Graduates of Polytechnic Schools, Graduates of other Departments (Universities or TEI) with relevance to the subject of the postgraduate program.

  3. Holders of a Bachelor Degrees from equivalent Institutions abroad. A Postgraduate Studies Diploma is not awarded to a student whose first cycle degree from an institution abroad has not been recognized by the Interdisciplinary Organization for the Recognition of Academic Titles and Information (D.O.A.T.A.P.), according to the law 3328/2005 (Α' 80).

  4. Members of the special teaching, laboratory and technical staff of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the title of studies and the work they perform at the (A.U.TH.) are relevant to the subject of the P.M.S., they can be enrolled as supernumerary and only one per year.

Preference is given to those who are employed in the field of design, research and developments, production technology of biologically based products, etc., in private or public sector companies or participate in research programs of the public and private sector and document the ability to achieve research work within the framework of their employment.

The number of admitted students per year is limited to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 25 postgraduate students. The PPS can operate with at least ten postgraduate students.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The evaluation of the candidates of the MSc. “Monitoring and Bioeconomy of Natural Resources” consists of the following criteria including a scale 1-100 (the weighting factor of each standard is in parentheses):

  • The overall degree grade – with a minimum grade of “Very Good” (40%),
  • Candidate's personality (evaluated based on an interview by the Coordinating Committee of the PPS) (25-30%)
  • Excellent/very good knowledge of English (20%, 15%, respectively)
  • Relevant research or professional experience of the candidate (10 - 20%)
  • Grade in the courses related to the academic subject of the PMS (5%)
  • Submitting at least two (2) letters of recommendation will also count positively

A three-member Selection and Examination Committee is formed by the members of the School who undertake postgraduate work and are responsible for selecting the candidates. The Committee designs a complete list of all candidates and, after the relevant control, rejects those who do not meet the minimum criteria set by the relevant School and calls the qualified candidates to an interview. After completing the process, The Assembly of the School of Forest Science and Natural Environment validates the final list of the successful candidates.

Candidates with a degree grade of "Good" may be accepted only if the required number of admitted students has not been completed. Entrants with the same grade during the evaluation process can also be accepted as surplus. A documented decision of the Assembly of the School is necessary, in the above two cases.

TUITION FEES - SCHOLARSHIPS

Total Tuition Fees: 2900 €

Method of Tuition Payment: Two equal installments of 1450 €

Timeline of Payment: In the beginning of each semester

Scholarships: Two (2) scholarships. Discharge from the 1st payment of tuition fees for the student who will achieve the best admission grading for the Program and discharge of the 2nd payment of tuition fees for the student who will achieve the best grading at the exams of the first semester of each cycle of the program. Each scholarship corresponds to an exemption from payment of the amount of €1,450

Tuition Fee Exemption: Postgraduate students who comply with the provisions of Law 4957/2022 are exempt from the tuition fees.
